Triller Is Now a Hunting Ground for Nip Slips

As Triller grows in popularity, so does the quest to find nudity on the app

With the future of TikTok in jeopardy, Triller has had a chance to flourish in the last month. So, too, have the people trawling the app for nip slips. Both apps technically forbid porn or adult content of any variety, but enforcement between the two currently differs. Though TikTok has grown to a point where not even brief, accidental porn or nudity could remain live for more than a few minutes, viewers are finding Triller’s moderation to be slightly more lax. Naturally then, Triller has become a hunting ground for quick blips of boobs.

According to Google Trends, “Triller nsfw” is one of the top related searches pertaining to the platform. The subreddit r/TrillerNSFW2 is currently the biggest home to this type of content, and has just under 9,000 members. The description reads, “A place to share sexy Triller videos. Triller is an app similar to TikTok but with alot [sic] less moderation, which makes finding NSFW content much easier!”

Upon logging onto the subreddit, a pop-up message states that there have been over 10,000 visits in the past week alone. Many of the videos and images uploaded to the group are relatively tame — the most popular videos primarily contain around one second where someone is intentionally flashing the camera, or where a nipple only slightly escapes from the side of a dress.

Part of the appeal seems to be that the majority of these clips are grabbed directly from Triller, though they may no longer remain live. In contrast, much of the popular content on r/TikTokNSFW today is actually not from the app at all, but is instead leaked content from TikTokers OnlyFans’ or private Snapchats. In this way, r/TrillerNSFW2 more closely resembles r/TikTokNSFW in its earlier form, when it predominantly featured PG-13 content of women dancing in slightly revealing athleticwear.

Of course, if Triller is to replace TikTok, the NSFW content oriented around the app will likely experience a similar shift as more money typically leads to more stringent moderation of quick flashes and nip slips — but maybe not entirely. “We see ourselves as the adult version,” Triller co-owner and Hollywood producer Ryan Kavanaugh told CNBC’s Make It earlier this month. “We look at [TikTok] like a stepping stone to Triller,” he continued, explaining that the app is envisioned to be more risque and for an older audience. Still, the minimum signup age for Triller is only 12, and the community guidelines of Triller and TikTok are nearly identical in practice.

Nevertheless, r/TrillerNSFW2 is proof that there is adult content to be found on the app. It’s unclear how long these videos remain on Triller, as nearly everything on the subreddit links to a website created to store copies of Triller videos outside the app. However, the subreddit has its own guide to “finding flashes and wins on Triller,” and even recommends specific songs to search. For example, anything by Megan Thee Stallion offers decent odds of twerking or accidental slips.

As Triller grows in users while touting itself as a more mature alternative to TikTok, it maintains a sort of “Girls Gone Wild,” new-frontier tone. And as women on TikTok who have built a following on platforms like OnlyFans prove, audiences are increasingly looking for authentic, girls-next-door adult content — these quick flashes and nip slips are merely further proof of that fact.
