Why Does Taking Estrogen Make Someone’s Cum Taste Better?

Hormone replacement therapy can change your body in a lot of ways. It can also make your jizz delicious

As someone with an affinity for bodily fluids, I’ve tasted my fair share of cum over the years. And with that, I’ve started to notice differences in lovers’ ejaculate. If their diet is low on fruit, it might be a bit more bitter than usual. Meanwhile, if they smoke excessively, it can be damn near unguzzlable.

But the most distinct difference is in my transfeminine partners’ cum — their ejaculate differs pretty greatly from that of cis men. It’s less projectile in nature, more likely to drip and squirt than shoot with force. There’s also just generally less of it, and sometimes there’s none at all, even when they’re experiencing an orgasm. When their cum is present, that ooey-gooey texture disappears and is replaced by a silkier liquid not dissimilar to precum. Along with the change in mouthfeel, the flavor profile also morphs, becoming much sweeter to the taste. In essence, it’s delicious. But why?

If you have a penis, taking estrogen and anti-androgens as hormone replacement therapy brings about plenty of changes to the body, such as decreased muscle mass, weight redistribution and breast development. It also can affect the way your dick works, lessening the frequency of erections and the ability to maintain one, as well as the previously stated changes to cum.

“Too many guys hit me up asking me to spew a hot white load all over their faces when it’s more of a clear drool that gushes once or twice,” says Lysandra, a sex worker I was flirting with but then decided would be a great person to interview on this particularly sticky subject. Similarly, some of my porn performer friends have told me that they dial back on anti-androgens like spironolactone when they have a shoot where a cumshot is expected of them.

Lysandra spent eight months reading peer-reviewed endocrinology studies to biohack her transition for optimum results. One of those intended results was to stop ejaculating. When a person with testicles takes estrogen, the hormone tends to shut down testosterone production in the testes, which decreases sperm production and testicular function over time. When that happens, ejaculation becomes more difficult, and again, the quality of cum can change.

As for the propulsity of the loads, that has to do with the testes atrophying due to the decrease in testosterone, which is just a fancy way of saying they shrink and get less use. “As balls become more fun-sized, the muscles in the testes also shrink,” confirms an experienced HRT provider who wanted to remain nameless.

Which brings us to the viscosity. Semen is made of multiple components, including sperm from the testicles, but most of it comes from the prostate or the glands around it. When the testicles atrophy as described above, they stop producing as much sperm, too. “At that point, the Cowper’s gland, a precum source, is primarily stimulated, which is why girlcum is really similar to a gush of precum,” Lysandra tells me. Making the cum seedless, if you will.

“Testosterone spurs the production of seminal fluid, so less testosterone makes the byproduct a more homogenous texture,” my medical contact adds.

And that sweet, sweet estrojizz flavor? Where does she come from? Well, it’s hard to say. Some women do, however, note a change in taste as their testosterone levels drop. “My squirt changes to the point where I can taste my T levels [in my cum],” says Eliza Casey, a trans porn performer. “When I get my testosterone levels low enough, it’s like clear agave.”

Lysandra tells me she believes it might have to do with the lack of sperm, which means a reduction in protein, but none of my medical contacts could confirm this (probably because there’s not a lot of funding for research studying the piquancy and palate of transfeminine sploodge).

So perhaps no one can say for sure where this remarkable flavor comes from, but at the very least, we can all agree that girlcum is delicious.

Bon appétit.
